Do your kids forget to brush every so often, especially when you’re too busy or tired to remind them? Let them know that the perfect opportunity for a clean slate is coming up this Friday, November 1 – National Brush Day!

In acknowledgement of National Brush Day, encourage the whole family to brush for a full two minutes, morning and night. Ask the kids how long they can stick to a “2 minutes, 2 times a day” routine without forgetting to brush. It might be a good time to create a new brushing chart or re-stock your drawer with reward stickers.

2min2x.org offers a free brushing checklist you can print from their website, complete with spaces to track daily brushing and a space to come up with weekly rewards. Rewards can consist of simple, interactive activities such as a walk to the park or a family movie night, complete with homemade popcorn. Don’t forget to get the kids involved and make brushing fun!

National Brush Day is an oral health campaign sponsored by The Ad Council and the Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives. With tooth decay being the No. 1 chronic health problem among U.S. kids, the goal is to remind parents and young ones about the importance of regular oral hygiene.
